A SHOT IN THE FOOT

"We shot an experimental fashion visualizer on 16mm & 35mm film. This project was originally conceptualized as a metaphor for my angst as a freelance artist, in all its chaos and uncertainty. I believe in powerful yet vulnerable storytelling for women, of women, and by women." The story follows an Asian girl assassin who operates only at night. She is quick and innovative, and what she does, she does best: she’s a killer. But she flies a bit too close to the sun; she grows careless, she parties too hard, and the thrill of the money eclipses the risk of danger. She gets sloppy, but the jobs keep coming, and there is no one except herself to clean up the mess she leaves behind.

Torn In Two - Beachwood Sparks

"Torn In Two," Beachwood Sparks' long-awaited single produced by Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, showcases the band's signature Western swing and the blend of soft signature, expressive vocals of Chris Gunst. The song crests with a glorious guitar solo that electrifies the soul. With Robinson's seasoned touch, the track and animated video by Mark Neeley captures the raw energy of Neil Young's Zuma era, while weaving a narrative of West Coast environmentalism. After 12 years, the band's return is marked by both familiarity and lil' bit of evolution.

AMIRI AUTUMN-WINTER 2024 RUNWAY SHOW

AMIRI presents a Hollywood epic, a story of young idols becoming timeless icons. This new guard cast a contemporary refinement: easeful, free-spirited, daring. For a brand established in Los Angeles, the Hollywood lights inspire in a manner that is close to home and familiar to the heart. Presented inside a venue evoking a movie theater, the velvet curtain is the ultimate cinematic motif. Eras intertwine, as do notions of glamour and formality: the timeless allure of Old Hollywood with the undone irreverence of the 90s. At once rebellious and romantic, these rising stars deconstruct traditional American tuxedos towards loose, thrifted fits. Double-breasted shapes are elongated, shoulders softened and blazers cropped; pyjama silhouettes and robe collars relax into backstage loungewear. High-waist trousers flare out with exaggerated nonchalance – slim belts expand the proportion play, overhanging with a skate sensibility. The iconic interiors and textures of LA’s heritage movie theaters echo through the collection, their red velvet seating mirrored by subtle embellishments, and rich tones recontextualized across an expressive palette: champagne, teal, dusty blue, tan, burgundy, and, specifically, this season’s emblematic Blush, a lavish pink hue that fills the venue. All the while, luxurious fabrications are artfully transformed – washed leather, tweed, wool twill, printed suede, silk and mohair.
